17 weeks and 4 days fetus. Baby is pretty developed. Most of the organs are working.

About a week after coming home from Hawaii on May 11th, I had a prenatal doctor's visit, which I could not wait to go to. I wanted them to reassure me that my pregnancy was going well since I had some red bleeding. The doctor did a pap smear, checked my pelvis and uterus and said everything felt fine. I told her about my bleeding and spotting so she thought an ultrasound might be a good idea to make sure that everything was alright.

Since this was an early stage of my pregnancy, a transvaginal ultrasound was done to check for my baby's heart. The ultrasound technician found my little baby as well as the yolk sac which feeds the baby until the placenta has matured enough to start feeding the baby directly from my nutrients. The ultrasound technician said everything looked good. The heart was beating at around 160bpm. She also measured the baby and according to her measurement, I was a week earlier that I had told them I was. So instead of being nine weeks into my pregnancy, she said that I was only eight weeks. This finding gave me a due date of a week later than the original due date my ob-gyn doctor had given me. My due date went from December 23rd to December 29th of 2007.
